Electrical problem, 1992 Prelude, funky signal light problem, not a missing/blown bulb
Ok, after the prelude was in an accident the left signal light didnt work quite right, granted the prelude has 2 front signal light bulbs and one was working so i didnt care, i just delt with the left blinker flashing 2x faster than the right, it was obviously telling me that the bulb was out.
Finally i replaced the bulb and it made all 3 (2 signals & parking light) glow very dimly, and the two directionals still blinked rapidly.
I took out the bulb i had just inserted and the other two still were dim
So i tested the resistance of the bulbs and they were all good, about 3.8 ohms a piece. so i looked at the connections, a little white gunk in them so i cleaned it out.
The two (working signal and parking) bulbs glew bright again. So i hooked up the missing directional again and now that particular directional doesnt glow at all.
So i did a voltage test on the missing directional while the blinker was on, it was giving me a very small voltage. So i tried continuity on that connection and i was getting about .3 ohms.
great, a short.
I just figured it was wet or the connection inside of the harness was messed up, but i cut the harness off and tested the wires for continuity and it still was grounded out.
Being that this was the side the prelude was hit on i figured the impact may have sliced open the line and it was grounding out there. So i pulled the positive (blue + green) wire out of the harness all the way back to the firewall (to remove any chance of the wire touching metal) and it was still grounded out.
So i followed the wire inside the cabin and followed it right up to junction connection 328 and cut the line right before the junction connection and tested the line leading to the connection and it was still grounding out.
Theres no damage to the junction connection and i dont know what else to do, the wires in the junction connection all have continuity with eachother.
Im confuzzled.
And to top it off now the signal light in the front isnt flashing at all, just the rear. And if i turn the lights on then off while the keys in the on position the one signal light shines steady, while the lights are off.

I have the same problem too. My car is also a 92. One of the bulb went out and of course I replaced it and the rapid blinking occurs. WTF! Just sux
Well after a long night i ended up finding out the problem was partially caused by a bad ground in another of the directionals.
But since black doesnt neccessarily mean ground with this car, it took a bit of wiring to get it to flash right.
PITA.
