SRS light came on a while back on my '01 Accord. Did a search on here and found a procedure to reset it. With the help of a buddy I got the light reset. It's been over a week and the light has not come back on. My question is, what would cause the light to come on to start with? I'm just wondering if it's programmed to come on every X miles so you will take it to your Honda dealer and spend some money?

The light came on once before when the car was newer and we DID take it to Honda. It cost something like $400 to get some sensors or something replaced. Even though it was out of warantee, we got reimbursed for it by Honda a month or two later. It all just sounds a bit fishy to me.

Just curious more than anything. If anyone has any ideas or opinions let me know.
