Default LS tranny

so i have a 99 LS with a jdm gsr with the LS trans. i want to get a NEW b16 trans (cheaper than new b18 trans)... how does that compare to a gsr or type r tranny?

the type R is like teh b16 1st-3rd and the GSR 4th and 5th if its from here it will also have the same 4.4FD that the b16 and GSR have

also the b16 is slightly shorter than the GSR

Along with the information above if you do plan on staying NA then the b16 tranny is a good option to go with.

wrong. all usdm itr and 96-97 jdm itr tranny's have the same ratio's as b16's plus an lsd. only the 98+ jdm itr tranny's have the b16 1-3, gsr 4-5, and 4.7fd and lsd.
