Default dead battery, got new one. car no start

Ok so i get out to start baseball practice at 2:30 afternoon. Got done at 7:00.
Put the key in.
Turned it and nothing happened,,,, no ding no click nothing. As if i didnt even have a battery
So i checked my heaflights and they were on so it completely drained my battery in those 4.5hrs.
Tried using jumper cables...Did not work..nor did pushing it off.
So i went to wal-mart got a new battery put it in made sure everything was tight and went to put the key in with high hopes and it was just like before. Nothing at all happened.
Im lost and i had no daylight so i left it in the parking lot and went home 45mins away. Im going back first thing in the morning so i hope to figure something else out by then..thanks

if push starting it didn't work, then it wasn't your battery dude.

are the lights coming on at all?
if nothing at all is working it could be a ground, make sure they are both tight.

if not you grounds then check your main relay, just search it's a topic thats been beaten to death

cant even get a dome light to come on. I know i left the lights on. and im pretty sure it was a dead battery.
I tried to use the hazards to see what would happen and they started to blink then got really fast within a couple seconds and the dash hazards blinking got dimer as the hazards flashed faster.
I tried to search but i t seems all i can find si stuff where peoples battery are draining at weird times.
I cant get any dash lights on with new battery either.
I dont think anything came unpluged from the time i parked it and it didnt happen while i was driving because i turned it off then back on and moved it 10 feet out of the way before practive even started so everything worked up until i left my lights on for hours.

i checked in both my fuse places and they all seem to be good. I used to have a crx...now ive had this car for about 4 months and am still learning everything on it.
Where are all the grounds ive checked for anything unplugged with what little light i had. I'll use the search to find the main relay.

i think the old battery had 535 starting amps...at least thats what it said on the battery.
But i know the new one does not have that. im pretty sure the new one only has 520 starting amps..VS the old 535.
Would that have anything to do with it so i could even have a hope of electricity

If you didn't hear the fuel pump prime, then it's unlikely to be related to your battery being the wrong amperage, or even dead/alive. It sounds like you've got some electrical gremlins at work.

I'd do stupid things like double-check that all the under-dash and under-hood fuses are fine. However since you're not getting anything, not even dash lights... ugh... I hate diagnosing electrical problems. I'll leave it to the H-T guys who are better at it.

I will leave you with this tidbit - back when my car was new I nailed this under-dash connector when putting my left foot in & out of the car (on several occasions). With it disconnected the car wouldn't start, but I think it'd at least light up the dash. To be honest I have size 13s and the car is a Del Sol, so it's a little cramped down there, but when I nailed that connector I had absolutely no clue I'd hit it - there was zero resistance. On the last occasion the connector was barely even out of the socket, visually it looked like it was plugged in, but once pushed back into the socket everything was fine. So if you've also got feet on loan from Bigfoot, check under the dash and try pushing all the connectors under there to make sure they're actually seated.

i too have 13's ha..i will be leaving to go back to the car in about an hour. i will def. double check all connectors since its daylight.
But reguardless i had to get a new battery cause the cells were completly dry and was evident that they were out.
The battery connectors could be replaced but they were working before so...
i can remember a connector right next to the ECU that was never pluged to anything and always wondered what it was cause it kinda just hungout and i had to periodically tuck it back in to the carpet...i dont have a glove box

if you're getting no power at all, and the car does nothing when you put in your key it can very well be your grounds.

usually its the one on the transmission, i believe its held on by a 10mm bolt, and it's simply a metal wire that is bolted to the frame of the car.

if that doesn't do it i'd check the battery connections, and also check that the new battery has a charge, but i've never seen a dead battery that can't be push started.

I had this problem with my battery last year, turned out to be the ground on my battery was loose even though it would tighten it would loosen up again. Stupid thing was stripped so it would lose connection.

I ended up putting a screw in the terminal ground so it would stay tightened. If there is no power then its not the main relay!, Main relay is a fuse for the Fuel Pump which would mean it wouldnt prime. As far as connectors or fuses the car would recieve some kind of power with the new battery a chime, hazards, etc. My faith is in that the battery is no good. Ive bought 2 bad batteries from Advance Auto Parts. Why couldnt he have bought a shitty battery from WalMart also. If you go back and change your battery make sure they check the voltage is its charged and stuff, then place it back in. Have a friend wiggle the terminals when you place the key in.

If nothing check your Grounds on Valve Cover, Tranny, Battery. Or the positive wire to the batter isnt burned up. I dont suggest the thermostat ground because the car would recieve power just wont turn over if the thermostat ground isnt hooked up.

Everyone is overlooking the fact you left your lights on and there is no power period.

well i checked all the connectors and everything is plugged...but i will check the grounds tomm. morning. I went and picked it up and with a trailer and brought it home when on the way home...the truck over heated and had to park for a while.
I hooked up the jumper cables to my battery and slap the other to together, and they had good spark to them so the battery is at least good for somethin.
I just dont see how any of the grounds just came unplugged just sitting there. But anything can happen...im bout to check out the valve cover gound right now with the ole cell phone light...never had soo many flash lights with no batteries

ok so does there have to be a ground directly to the valve cover cause there kinda is a hole/spot thats shiney where something could have once been there...but there is a ground to something closer to the exhaust manifold?

You should have the following grounds.

Valve cover to frame,
Tranny to frame,
The ground on the thermostat housing
