J's front strut bar, need help to see if its real or repelica.
I just bought a used strut bar off a local dc5er.
I went to the a-j racing site, and they seem to have one thats slightly different than what i have.
bar, theres a j's racing sticker in the middle

left side

right side

a-j racing website (might be the universal pic they use for strut bars)

mine has a recessed area on the left... or pass side.. and it says j's racing there .. you have a replica there.
Are the green mounting brackets the same? If you wouldnt mind, can u post up pics of your strut bar?
I paided 50cdn approx 55usd for it. So i guess its not too bad

the sticker i dont think is recessed like i thought but its on there real nice like..
the paint coming off around the holes is super common..
check where my sticker is to see if there is signs of a sticker once being on yours, that may have happened and the prev owner just put that stick on it ..
btw mine dosent have the built on bracket for the torque damper.. but i know they do make them that way ... and they paint their mounts a variety of colors if you look at some of the race vehicles they use for demos.. there is no one soloid color base they stick to .,

i should have no problems fitting it on a 05 type s hey, just have to take the stock strut bar out.

i thought there wasent any change between 02-04 and 05-06 in terms of suspension and strut, besides that the springs are wound inversely. Correct me if i am wrong. I got the strut bar late last night, so i didnt really get to pop the hood open and compare it bolt for bolt. Hopefully after work i can compare it to the mounting points on my rsx. Based on the A-j website it just says 02+, so i am assuming it fits?

The stock Type-S bar triangulates the struts with the firewall. That "J's" bar does not. I don't see how it would be an upgrade to install it if the OEM bar comes off.
I am pretty curious as well. Initially i was gonna go with the 02-04 oem strut plus the mugen repelica. But the price was just too good for the J's racing bar.
But after looking at the oem strut bar, they dont actually mount up to the bolts from the coilovers. The j's strut bar does mount up to the coilover bolts.

i check it out myself and i rather have somthing thats bolts to the strut bolts rather than just the two pegs ..

I'm not going into the dynamics of it, but I'd still rather have the bar that attaches along 3 points rather than 2.
Just because something looks cool and beefy does not mean that it works better...
