The tranny in my 2000 TL took a dive when I had 104,000 miles on the car. Even though it was past the warranty, my Acura dealer fixed the tranny for free! Why did they do this? There is a class action lawsuit in progress against Honda/Acura in regards to their tranny problems "for the 1999 through 1993" models. For about 4 years, there were (and have been) many tranny issues. Yes, that's a good price on that TL. But, it's at the pojnt were the transmission could start giving you problems...

it may start giving you problems if it has not been replaced yet. If the car has a new transmission in it then i'd say its fine. HOnda discovered teh problem adn fixed it and started replacing transmissions all over the place.

Dont drive it hard and it wont break again. Not saying that is what made them break but hard driving is well.... hard on the car.

trans issues were not completely solved until the 2004 model year when the unit was replaced with a new 4 shaft unit.
