Got a new clutch installed by shop. Everything was cool, car shift fine, but it seems that I have to press slightly harder, to the point that pedal hits the floor, for it to shift smoothly. If the clutch pedal is not pressed hard enough, it's slightly stiff to shift on gear. Is there any way I can adjust to allow the gear to engage on mid point of the pedal when it depress and/or make it shift smoother? Plus, the shop said, it's shifting ok, and since it's hydro, there' really not much adjusting.

All experts on these are welcome. Let me know. I have been searching for same problem as mine, but nothing really close. Thanks

 

Since the clutch was just installed, it will need break-in usage to make it grip like it should. Once that is over, it should grip even better.

When I replaced my clutch and got the flywheel machined, the brake-in period felt the same as afterwards, but the time I didnt get my flywheel machined, and just scuffed it with sandpaper (the practice of most shops) the break-in was needed for the clutch to grip well and the pedal to feel 100% normal.

 

yeah, I figured Ill wait for a while to break it in. The flywheel was resurfaced and everything. But thanks for the info.

 

Needs to break in, plus its a new clutch, so if this is your first time with a new clutch, this is expected, it will feel different becuase your previous one was probably worn out.
