Default Poped the cherry on my S

So i have only been driving my car for about 3 weeks now and it was completly stock, up untill yesterday. My original plan was to pop the mod cherry by instaling springs but they are taking longer to come in then expected. So in the mean time I decided I would put on a k&n intake that my freind had laying around his garage. The plan for my car was drop it first then single exhaust and finaly oem lip I wasnt even thinking about an intake just cause it didnt seem like it was worth the money. But hey my friend said I could have it for free so i was like f*** it why not. I dont know why he had it in the first place hes a hardcore vduber. Im sorta happy with the intake my car responds a lil better and the vtec sounds sick! Anyways heres a pic.

What is your opinion on this intake should I keep it or put my oem box back on?

I thought about doing the same thing. Honestly, I would keep the OEM intake on, as it performs better than most (if not all) aftermarket intake systems. The intake pictured probably would succumb to heat soak, as the engine bay of the S2000 gets pretty hot.

I do admit that in the upper rpm range, it sounds REAL nice.

i was talking to some guy the other day at my work and he enjoys hondas so we start talkin and he asks if thats my S in the parking lot, obviously i said yeah and i absolutely love it... he then asks what engine do I have in there, a V8??? holding in my laughter i replied, nah its just a 4-cylinder and his eyes lit up... hes like GTFO, your car sounds sooo bad ***... and all i did was smile, said thank you, and mentioned all i had done was an intake...

yeah, that's seeriously a cool story and all, but what kind of moron confuses the growl of a v8, for the high-pitched rev of the S?

thats the differnce... my doesnt sound high pitched especially down low... it is more of a growl and very intimidating...

Umm did you give him a head start or something? Didn't pass until the top of 2nd? You gave that civic too much pride.

if you like the intake then keep it. saves you a little weight (+-9 lbs). might heat bog your engine at low rpms. your car would probably after for colder air....

I'd put the OEM back on. I'm guessing the "better response" is all in your head.

I went from this junk setup that the previous owner did:

....to this, with a MAJOR performance difference:

and now the filter sits here:

I also added a breather hose that does not enter the intake, and installed a water seperator between the PCV and intake manifold to function as a catch can:
