Default 2002 accord se tranny kick

My mom has a 2002 accord se with about 78,000 miles on it. when the car comes to an almost complete stop the tranny gives the car a slight kick that makes the car lurch forward just the slightest bit. To me this is not a problem however it does concern my mother and i dont want it to turn into a much bigger problem. so please any input on this would be helpful. This is an automatic by the way.

by the way you describe it, it almost sounds like the tranny is downshifting into first gear.... this isnt necessarely a bad thing... id say check the fluid level and condition... maybe do a flush....

Hammer is right, have someone check the levels, Fluid could be a simple solution to resolve this ...could also be a problem with the kick down cable during the down shift - maybe it needs adjusting ?
