prelude and accord
hey i own a prelude and i was looking at some accords the other day and one thing noticed is how the look so much like the ludes but jus 4 drs. i think it was the 5th gen accords? well did anyone ever think that the accord coulda been the 4 dr prelude? i mean the rear tails of the accords look jus like the 4th gen ludes and the front emd headlights same.

To your point, there are some similarites between the Accord and Prelude, but they are built by Honda and cost savings is imperative for any organization. The more parts that are interchangeable the less money you need to shell out on product design. Using parts that are interchangable just makes great business sense. As for the cars looking the same, the designers are still building the same brand so knowing what sells and what direction the business wants to go in is likely a partial influence on product design. In the end you end up with two models that resemble each other.
