Will my Accord sound goofy if I replace an intermediate pipe with a resonator-free one?
I had a hole blow open in my intermediate exhaust pipe (the right-angle bendy one under the rear passenger footwell) after a crappily welded hanger tore off. I've tried Quiksteel, but that stuff keeps popping off after a few days.
What I'd like to do is see if I can have a muffler shop bend me an intermediate pipe without a resonator, just to save a few dollars. I have a stock LX muffler, cat, manifold, etc. Would just removing the resonator make my car sound goofy or boomy at certain revs, or would there just be more noise overall, like going from a stock intake to a CAI?
