Default big tube or production header

I'm doing my 2.0L build,(FINALLY). just wondering if big tube headers are worth the extra money or should i spend the extra money elsewhere.
for example RMF , HYTECH,SMSP production headers or their counterparts of the big tube world.

my compression would be around 12 :1 built bottom end.

there isnt enough topics on them to help me decide.

What are your goals 200-220 or 230 and up? what do you mean by production header,dc sports kind or rage production "kind". A well designed header is a very good investment, and the value dosen't depreciate that much over time. check your pm for a deal.

Here's a graph on our B20 vs B19 header on a 84.5 x 89 drag engine.

thanks for all your replies, so in other words everybody thinks its worth going with a header that is meant for the engine, by production i meant a header meant for the general b18 build to pretty much stock b20 like dc, or the regular hytech meant for beefy 1.8's and mild b20 in comparison to the smsp b19 , b20 headers or the rage (hytech's big tube' i've heard) etc..

think i'm going with the Rage big tube, unless i see something that catches my eye better...smsp perhaps!?

Think about your whole setup before you get a big expensive one.

is this going in a crx? if so, the hytech/rage/etc. might not be your best choice due to lack of ground clearance. i switched to a smsp b19 multi-piece because of this reason.

unless the crx is slamed to the floor he shouldnt have no problems. i got a hytech and dont got no clearance problems at all and runing with 22x8.5x13" slicks on bogarts.+ i got a teg with a hytech and the car is pretty low at the front and aint got no clearence problems just got to know how to go thrue the speed bumps. but i got omni power all around on the crx and tokico blues on the teg, if that helps you out a little .

Those are great numbers. May I ask the setup on this one. Have some Pro 2's and thinking of putting them in. Thanks.

I saw the big tube smsp on it last year and that piece is a beauty. Just search bearsEK. Mike has a hell of a set up, especially for what it is. He went 11.4 on that show 'name that test and tune' on speedvision. 11.2 when I saw him at Nopi 06 in Norwalk.
