H22 Euro R in EJ/EG Civic?
I see forums on h22 swaps in civics, but I have never heard of the Euro-r version in a civic. Is there anyone who has done this successfully? How much would all of this cost if I got all of the installation done @ a reputable shop? How difficult is it to do in general? And also some reliabilty and driveability questions? Lastly where could I find a clean h22 euro r complete swap? If anyone has any information on this topic for me I would greatly appreciate it, because I am somewhat new to this stuff but I have people around me that are into it and I have AlWAYS been into honda's!!!!!!!
you could try Hmotors...they may be able to get you the swap..but they mostly have JDM motors...

i really like it..i went from a supercharged automatic to a 5spd jdm itr....if you go with the ITR motor just know that the b18c5 is the USDM version and the b18c is the JDM version also has a Red valve cover...jdm has a little bit higher compression and i belive 10 more hp..the motor so far has been really fun and reliable

Ok yea im kinda looking into that more and more. I always really wanted a type r but i just didnt kno if it was worth the money. but as i hear from more and more people they are really happy with their type r, so im goin to do more research on it and just plan to do bolt-ons, clutch, ecu and tune and it looks like i could be pretty happy with that. what kinda times have u ran? and what kinda times should i be expecting with a good-decent driver? low 14s or could i dip into the 13s?? and would i be able to hang (not beat) the v8 mustangs and such?? obviously not from a dig but on like a 40 roll??? thanks for all ur help.
I have the B18C5 in my EG hatch. I love it. Definately a fun car to drive. Although I havent driven mine in a month. Building the turbo Type-R right now
An h22 type-s will school an ITR setup IMO.
Especially If you put them on the same playing field with the same gearing.

so true check the sig
the motor trans ecu and wiring harness was around 4300 my car rips i havent tracked it on slicks yet but mark at one six motorsports has the same setup as i do and ran a 12.7 in the quarter. the type s has a lower factory redline and the euro r trans is better geared for acceleration. i raced a type s crx which is alot lighter than my coupe and i pulled on it by about half a car the euro r h22 is a great swap
edit: mark ran a 12.7 w/o hondata too

I am interested in going with a h22 (type-s or euro r) but even tho the actual motors are cheaper the cost to get the h22 in the eg properly would make it overall cost more i think, but in the end if u did it right u would have a pretty fast daily driver with a stock motor. But does anyone kno how much it would cost to get an h22 in a eg civic? im talking if i took it to a shop and had the motor all installed and the new axles that i need. about how much when its all said and done and i can drive my car home?
I hope you know some one in your area that can do this swap cause if you take it to a shop they will give you a crazy price i have a friend that would charge u maybe $800-1000 to do the swap but he lives in south florida
well.. you figure the price isn't actually the labor itself.. more the parts to make everything fit (i'm sure a shop will charge you somewhat the same price to put an itr motor into the car or an h22) i believe the last price floating around on full itr swap with install was 5k.. of course if you want extra things it'll cost a little more money.. maintainance items.. better mounts.. yaddi yaddi yaddi
i think b-series.. you can get away with some stock mounts and axles since the hub is still a 32mm
h-series you need mount kit, axles.. bunch of other things
something also to consider... if your hatch has a/c and power steering.. gogin b-series will enable you to retain those items.. keeping those items in an h-series hatch is impossible.. not to mention the euro-r crank pulley only has room for one belt.. so no power steering from the jump.. and you need all these custom pieces to make a/c work in the car
so in the end.. it's what your goals are.. fast daily driver and keep all the p/s and a/c options... then i guess go b-series
you want over 140 ft lbs of tq at 4800 rpm.. i gotta check my dyno sheet again and get a new one for a euro-r.. go with the h-series
if you got money to burn... of course the new age is k-series
