Default Falken Azenis in the wet

Hi i just got my 205/50/15 Falken Azenis put on my bronze slipstreams..and let me tell you..they grip sooo damn good!! I love them to death...but i am worried about driving them in the rain..i don't get it..some people say its "FINE" and some say its "HORRIBLE"...can "everyone" who have had any experience with these tires in rain post opinions and what u recommend while driving in the rain...like for instance if i were to drive over standing water....say i am driving around 45-50 mph..im i gonna lose control, crash and die?? he he he...anyone? Thanks in advance to all of your replies..

They are fine in the rain. But it really depends on the tread depth. With a 200 treadware rating you need to keep an eye on them. Slow down if there is standing water and you will be fine.

And I don't care what kind of tires you have. If you are trying to be a mario andretti in the rain you are asking for trouble. But it you just use a little common sense and drive like a normal person you will be ok with the aziens.

Aziens are a STREET Tire.

There are other street tires with less of a treadware rating, I think the S-03s in s2ks are only 140.

At any rate, for a tire this sticky and this cheap, you can't go wrong. I still don't daily drive on mine though. I'll probably get 2 years of autox out of them, LOL.

they are fine in the wet as long as you have a good amount of tread.

Im about 1mm from wear bars and they hydroplane pretty easy when going through big puddles.

How many miles you have on those tires?

So the average driver should see 15k miles maybe more.

I have 2 track days, 8 autocrosses, and about 5000 miles on these tires (205/50x15") and they are fine in the rain. I know someone who had their Azenis shaved and after 5 autocrosses he was hydroplaning - well duh - any tire with almost no tread is going to hydroplane.

I used these a couple times in the rain and they grip like it was dry.
