I am looking into getting a pair of Buddy Club SPEC lll cams so i went to the Buddy Club website to do my research and they suggested that i bump my CR to 12.5 . sounds a little excessive since they suggest the same CR for their SPEC lV, V and Vl cams. does anyone have these cams in their GSR or B16? what results did you get? any info is greatly appreciated. thanks alot

 

If you're going with an aggressive cam, you should raise your compression. If you choose not to, you're just waisting money.

 

buddy club spec 3's are fine without swapping the pistons out or bumping up your comp ratio. in a stock gsr i saw a huge gain of about 20hp over ctr cams. i wouldnt run anything larger than bc3's on the stock bottom end cause to really take advantage of the cams u will need a higher comp ratio. but for buddy club 3's u just need springs and some retainers.

 

would i be able to go bigger than bc3s with a 98 spec ITR?

 

ur gonna loose power if u go with anything bigger because u dont have a high enough compression ratio to take advantage of the larger cams. bc3's are perfect for a 98 spec itr thats what i have them in. your going to need a tune though.

 

bc3's arent a very big cam. they can work with anything from stock compression to 12:1+.

 

yes but the buddy club 4's wont work well with a stock compression. and buddy club 3's are larger than ctr's
