Hey guys, I just got this awesome deal on a b17a engine and decided that I'm gonna drop that into my rex instead of a b16a or b18. I just had a couple questions though cause I'm not too familiar with this swap.. Is the b17a VTEC? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the b17 in a CRX? Please help, thanks..

 

Yes the B17 is a VTEC engine and there is not a big advantage to have the B17 over a b16 I dont think not sure though...And by a good deal what do you mean?

 

well I'm getting a good price for it and I don't have to pay for installation cause my family owns a shop/garage.. I just wanna make sure that b17's work well in a crx.. do they? Are there any disadvantages that you could think of?

 

make sure your B17a is coming out of a 92-93 GSR. just get a mount kit and a shift linkage and soon you will be enjoying B series power. get the gsr computer too!

 

what is a shift linkage? what does the comp do? sorry bout this, I'm not too familiar with this engine..
