piston rings
I need piston rings. they are pretty cheap, well I mean like 100-150. BUT people are telling me the install is nutsy expensive. and I completely understand why. so my question is, do you knwo a reliable place to do this in southern california, and should I just get like new pistons rods and **** while I am in there so I dont have to pay allot AGAIn or should I get my problem fixed NOW and not worry about pistons and rods and whatever else. also I am planning on turbo, will the pistons and rods and stuff make my compression too high? thanks
Yeah the labor can range from 700-1000 dollars depending on who does it for you. I would recommend you to save up for better parts if you plan on keeping your car for much longer. Get some forged pistons/rods.
hmmm.... my rings are also worn on my 95gsr. Does anyone else know of a place in So Cal that would be good for this type or work (besides the dealer
)???
95integrags-r, if you're gonna boost your gsr in the near future then I would definately spend the extra money on stronger rods and some forged pistons. Depending on how much you wanna boost you could get lower compression pistons. Do it all at once... it would be pointless to spend all that money on labor just to put on new rings and then tear down your motor again later to put in the rods and pistons.
