05 RSX type S vs. AP2 s2000
im looking for a new daily driver. im thinking either the s2000 or rsx-s
s2000 looks sex but it would be nice to be able to have passengers in the back when needed. the rsx-s would look sex too if done right.
s2000 is faster, but the k20a2 has lots of potential especially with hondata. turbo wise, both can get faster depending how big my wallet is.
which would be the better choice?

depending on how you want to roll and an s2k vs a rsx-s is varied on the driver for which one is faster. There was a thread on that.
Personally i'd take the rsx because, to me, it looks sexier then an s2k. There is a lot of potential in both cars and both can be fast regardless (like you said depending on your wallet size). What it really boils down to is, how do you feel with each car. See if you can go test drive an s2k and then an rsx-s.

not a whole lot of potential with an s2k with bolt on's if thats all you were planning on doing. Headers and exhaust don't really do much for it, some actually hurt the performance of the car. but, if you were to do just bolt ons for the type S you'd be getting some nice gains. Enough to hang with a s2k. I have a friend (dc5tegK20) with a type s (intake, shorty header at the time, exhuast and k pro) and a friend (ITR0065) with a AP2 s2k (stock) and the type s was right with the S2k
Drive both though and see which one you like better, both amazing cars, good luck and tell us what your final decision is

Both cars are awsome. I thought about trading my type-s in for an 07 s2000 but then I bought K-pro and keep right up. :-). S2000's have potential but only if you buy AEM or a VAFC to tune them. They are both badass cars. S2000's are fast and badass to be able to take the top down, but RWD, 2 seats and convertable, not that practical for a daily driver, especially if you live in PA or where it snows. Rsx is great car and K series engine is such an amazing engine and capable of great things. Either way you get a great badass honda!

that may be the only perfect reason ... lol ... need to bring people then drive a rsx ... if not then go for the s2k

I read somewhere that the s2000's insurance may be a little lower than the rsx. Just something for you to think about. I dont know if insurance prices is a factor or not.
Not to steal your thread, but mechanicsburg and carlisle? Are they near Williamsport by the Penn Tech campus? Btw, i like the type s over the s2k. just looks a little sharper to me IMO

sorry but stock for stock around the track s2k would own a dc5. I believe you can also flash an 06 s2k ecu. not sure about an 07 but I'm pretty sure they are working on it.

agreed, definitely. On a track/autocross a stock DC5 has no chance against a stock S2k...

Well you can't really compare a stock car vs a modded one. If you raced a modded s2k then it would be a different story. Plus you can have the best parts in the business but without proper setup it can be worse then stock.

They are both outside of Harrisburg, you should come down some night

LOL. I just thought it was funny that first you said all I have is "x." Then when someone said something about it you added that you say oh well good thing I also have "y."
To the OP: Drive both cars and see if you can live with having a "raw" 2 seater as a DD. A lot of people DD their S2000 and love it, while others prefer to have a beater in addition to their S. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with driving for long periods of time day in and day out.

RSX is a way better daily driver. more room better MPG, insurance will be more on the RSX.
the s2000 can be flashed 06-08by hondata
00-05 can also be flahsed but its too much work for the $$$
handling
S2K>RSX
the s2k has an excellent stock suspension if driven properly.

Dude, we need a chime in from an s2k owner, me. I have an 01 s2 and my best friend has an 04 rsx type s and obviously I have driven both. I like them both but my s2k is much much more fun in everyway, and even when my car was stock it is much more fun with the top down, cornering, quicknest, 9k redline ap1, babe magnet, just all around better car, and much sharper looks, (I know it's preference but I dont know anyone who would like an rsx over an s2000, thats ridiculous). Also I paid less than my buddy did for is type s. He paid around 18k, and I got my s for 16k, and we both had around 32k miles on the cars when purchase. But my car is not my daily and his is. The rsx is definatly more practical, and parts are cheaper and easier to come by. Depending on how much your willing to shell out for one of these cars, posibilties are endless. So my pick is s2k all the way.
