Default 1998 Water Leak under passanger SEAT...

Last ditch effort here, I've tried pouring water in buckets over the car, tried the car wash, tried high pressure hoses, still can't replicate it so hoping someone here has either had, or heard of this problem.

It's hit or miss if it will have water or not but we have had about a week of rain in jersey and the place that winds up wet is bizzare. The back floor and under the passanger seat. Not the edges, but in the middle. Almost as though the water is coming from under the car, but the car is not in motion when it gets wet.

The trunk is completely dry, the drain channels in the sunroof seem to be perfectly clear, poured a cup in each corner and watched it drain near the back wheels and near the front wheels on both sides. As far as it being the windshiled the front mats and carpets are never wet.

Anyhow problem is that the car stinks of mold, so any suggestions you all might have would be greatly appreciated.

BTW It's a 1998 Accord EX V-6 4 door with Leather.

It's not condensate from the A/C that drains out just fine, plus the front of the passanger seat is completely dry, it's under the seat that is wet.

This may be a stretch, but if it is like my 90 and 93's, there is an A/C duct under the front seats that blows air to the rear foot wells. Not sure how/where this is routed or how condensate might get in it, but you might check it out.

Thanks Fleetw00d when I get a chance to grab my mom's car from her I'll try running the hose down the front windshield and see if it comes back in through that vent, perhaps it's the easiest route for water to follow and it makes sense as nothing else around there is wet!!! Thanks for the check idea. I'll let ya know if that was it, OH yeah and if it was it how difficult is it to seal whatever is leaking in the firewall area?

The water could be coming from somewhere far away from under the passenger seat. It could be flowing under the carpet along the floorboard and accumulating under the seat because it's the lowest part of the floor. You need to pull the carpet out, then it will be easier to find where the leak is coming from. If the carpet has been getting wet for a while, you need to remove it to clean and dry it out anyway. Good luck.

My guess is from under the dash.

My guess its coming in around the seat-belt track. I have the same problem. Dont have any clue to where its coming in though.

I had water dripping from the seat belt track in mine, there was an area of rust where the black strip in the channel in the roof meets the windshield trim. Had to remove the trim (breaking clips in the process), clean out loose seal material, wire brush the rust away, treat the rust, then seal over the area before reinstalling the trim.
