Default ITR as DD? thinking of trading in my TSX. i miss my integra BAD!!

Well, a little background. I had a '97gsr for 3 years. Mild engine mods, Great suspension brakes etc.. i loved it. Time came when the motor was about to go (Number # piston rings were beyond gone) so I traded it in on an 2004 GTO. The Gto was alright, sucked on gas though, couldn't handle for sh*t but would roll out in a straight line. Had that for 3 weeks then car got totalled when the spring collapsed causing the fender to drop on the tire, spun me into a ditch and i hit a stump and a tree.
After that I bought an '07 civic Si. Car was pretty solid, at first, but started having problems. Pass. side seat spring was poking out., front suspension was knocking, windows rattled, **** paint, RR suspension was knocking. Traded that in for an 2002 silver S2000 which I ABSOLUTELY loved to death. Was the best car i have ever owned. Lack of space was a tiny bit annoying but no big deal. Car was quick, comfy (to me), super solid, just amazing. Went out with my girl to celebrate our recent engagement, I got wasted so she drove home (she was sobre), swerved to avoid a deer, car snapped, she over corrected and into the trees we went. Car was totaled. I almost cried.
Then i bought my most recent car a 2004 TSX 6spd. Great car. comfy. not fast but it'll get out of it's own way. Biggest thing is that I can't exactly throw the car around or play with it like I could my integra and the S and civic. It's the first 4 door i've owend and even though i actually really like it, I feel that i'm not in that slow 4 door stage of my life yet and am dying to get back into something i can really enjoy. A couple ITR's have became available and i'm seriously looking into them. one is black, the other is yellow. Cars are clean with 50k or less on them. No mods, 1 owner. Prices are decent but how is the ride compared to say an stock s2k or GSR? The S was solid but wouldn't beat you to death and as far as noise, ha, not a big deal at all. The S was by no means quite. I will drive this car everyday. just wanting some of your alls opinions. Also, no kids anytime soon so no need for 4 doors, rarely carry anything except groceries and maybe a backpack or 2.
Thank you!

The biggest issue is not comfort, but theft. It's actually not that bad as a daily driver, but what kills it is the theft worries. Also, the lack of A/C in the earlier models and no cruise control, etc. don't make it a great DD, either. Also, do you have a garage?

If it'll be your only car, I say keep the TSX and then get an ITR when you can afford one.

Well at least you have covered/owned some nice cars. That skips the consideration process. I would keep your daily and buy a less than mint R for the time being. You can find one in the 100k range in ok condition for 13kish.

What p nut said. If you have a garage, and enough money to buy it as your second car, I'd get one

No, I don't have a garage. I live in the sticks. i have a lot of land and several firearms. I had heard the theft was getting pretty bad for the R's. Actually it's great advantage for the TSX as nobody really even looks at it twice. i think the 2nd car opinion might be better. I can have my comfy clean simple slow car and my little monster if i get bored.
Thanx guys, we'll see what happens.

what year type r's don't have the cruise control and a/c? the ones i am looking at are all 2000's.

None of them had cruise control. 97+ had A/C as an option.

None have CC. 97 and 98 had AC as optional. 00 and 01 came standard.

With a couple of totalled cars on your record insurance for the R could be outrageous.

Other than having to watch where you park it the R makes a GREAT daily driver IMHO.

I never said I owed them anything. The buy out on the caR isn't bad, around 19k.

It's worth about that much so when I go to trade it in in a few months for an 08' M3 i'll be starting off from scratch

EG6-DC2- Nope, mine was silver with black mesh wheels.

The Kernel- I only wrecked 1 car, my wife wrecked the other. The civic was traded in. So i only have 1 car that's on my record as an accident. The S is on her's.

Opie- I'm assuming you had a tsx or it was wrecked? That M3 is sick. Have fun with that thing!!

OP,
If you live in the sticks don't worry too much about theft. I also live in the sticks and have left my car on the side of the road for 48 hours straight (hole in radiator) and no one even looked twice at it. Keep in mind my car is a PY, so your location is key in regards to theft. Many ppl on this board get their panties up in a bunch about theft, but that's no excuse NOT to own an ITR, especially if you live in the sticks.

If I were you I'd take a look at the black one, test drive it, and never look back, ITR's are amazing little cars and run great as a DD due to their reliability.
