Just fabbed up a waterjet machine
Here is a 3 head waterjet machine we just built that has a cutting area of 12' by 12'. The watertank is 2 halves that get welded together when it gets there so it would fit on a flatbed. I welded 85% of the parts on this machine. The last couple machines we built were 5 axis heads. typical waterjets we build are 5x10 or 6x12 cutting area. Has a cutting accuracy of .003" square

Thats badass, I wish i had a waterjet of that capacity.
what type of pressure does that bad boy put out? does it run an intensifier pump for each head or is it one big one that splits the pressure between the 3?

It has a 100hp KMT intinsifier for all 3 heads. Ours at the shop runs at 55,000 psi. I am not sure how much psi they will be cutting with this one.

yes, it is all CNC with G-code. im not sure on the encoder, the electricians deal with all of that stuff. Im always to busy welding the machines together
We have our own software called RE2000. There is a guy that we pay that writes the program for us.
The machine uses ballscrews instead of rack and pinion like a lot of other waterjet companies. Its so much more accurate. Im usually the one that gets the rails dialed in and they have tolerances of +-.003 when straightning them. Most everything is done in house except for when we take them to the surface grinder to have all plains match exactly the same.

we have an omax at our facility cuts at 50k psi, very nice piece of equiptment, and we are looking into a six axis waterjet at the moment
