PLEASE HELP ME!!! Brake Conversion Question
I have a 96 civic dx coupe and I did a front and rear disc conversion that came from a 97 integra gsr. I have no abs and Im using the dx proportional valve. The problem is when I drive normally my front brakes drags and the car slows down. It seems like the piston on the caliper is not releasing pressure on time. I checked the caliper and its still good. Is it the proportional valve??? Please someone help because I don't want to expletive up my ****.

not your proportioning valve.
Check the caliper slides. The things with the black rubber boot with the bolts going thru. If they are stuck, you will get a drag.
Just pull them out and clean them. you can use vice grips and twist back and forth as you pull them out. they should come out pretty easy using that method. Then clean them with a wire wheel. Re grease...re install...enjoy.

Yes, the slides that the caliper "clamp" slides on - the two bolts - in the boots.
Also, make sure they're greased. Don't use regular grease b/c it eats away at rubber, use synthetic grease, that's a common problem with caliper sticking.
You don't have that problem with drums

did you switch the vaccume booster or master cylinder out because i used a master cylinder off of one car and a booster off of another car on mine and it ended up self applying the brakes because the rod in the booster was to long for the new master cylinder.

ex civic has a bigger master and bigger front brakes and drums, that is why yours worked out fine, lx dx cx vx, all those models came with **** brakes. I only have the rears on my cx hatch, but once I upgrade the fronts, I believe I will need a prop valve and bigger master....
