Default 92 Civic Ignition Switch problem

Posted this in the forum by mistake.

We have a 92 Civic. Got in late last night turned off the ignition and went in the house came back out a few minutes later to roll up the windows. Key no longer turns in the ignition. Got my wife's key today and same problem. Initially the steering wheel was not locked and the key would not turn. I then turned the steering wheel to lock it and I still can not get it to turn. Keys work in all the other locks. Tried spraying WD40 in the cylinder and still no luck. We're stranded.

Did a peice of the key or debree get in there.

What ever you do, be gentle with it....those ignitions go out fairly quick.

chances are that a pin slide in the lock cylinder either broke or is jammed up too far, you will likely have to call a locksmith and have him rebuild your lock cylinder.
