mpfi swap help

Default mpfi swap help

1991 crx dx
car wont start after doing the swap ive triple check the instructions and wiring
i have tired both a 90 crx si computer and a 91 crx si computer. it has a distributor from 88 crx si. whats wierd is the starter wont crank and the battery has just been charged and i know the starter works for sure. it feels like its not getting spark, it is getting fuel and it set at top dead center and all plugs are plugged in. somebody please help

how did you check spark, if the car doesnt crank?

the check engine light comes on but no codes on the computer if we jump the starter it makes the fuel pump come on.

sometimes aftertrying to turn it on the light on the ecu will stay on

would this mean that somewhere the wiring is messed up sense its making other stuff come on?

who did all the wiring? what wiring did you do in it? did you check the starter fuse in the fuse box or any of the other fuses. when i did my swap i blew the starter fuse under the dash. you might wanna check that out.

yes ive checked all fuses twice one by one i did the wiring exactly how all the dpfi to mpfi swap write ups that r on here thats why i dont understand how it could be so messed up

oh and the radio and lights and hazards work but the car doesnt even attempt to crank

there is a little plug that goes into the starter. its flat, make sure its conected

so hold on... did you ground that terminal??? if you grounded it i beleave thats your problem. there is a wire from the ignition that runs to that.

check wires c1 and c2, actually double check all your new wires. so c1 and c2, then injector wirring a3 and a7. i got mine crossed a week ago when i did my swap. it happened when i ran them to the engine bay. Also check your solder connections. The two white wires on the distributor could be crossed.

check your main fuse, for your battery and i think under the dash their is a fuse just for the starter.

no i didnt ground it i put it on the starter where it goes. i even tried giving the starter direct current from the battery and it wont do anything

take the starter to autozone, pepboys, etc and have it tested.
