What would cause this - broken exhaust manifold
This is not my car. I am asking on behalf of someone I know.
Car: Stock Civic DX hatchback (D15)
Problem: Broken header.
Besides the fact that it might be a crappy header, what else might cause it to do this? He swears he did not hit anything.

there is no rear support. Other than that the only thing I can think of is that it might have been loose and rocking around?
Friends not from NY is he? cause i watched a ef hatch blow through a red light last night and everything on the car bottomed out and shot out sparks
It was funny to watch tho luckily i heard em coming or he probably would of creamed me.
But if not, i would think defect maybe? started cracking slowly, kept moving around, then finally killed itself?

shitty welds,no support,or work motor mounts + no support
Theres alot of damn stress on the exhaust system, especially with a manual tranny.
