Default 1991 accord radiator fan drains battery

When turned off, my radiator fan has an unfortunate habit of intermittently powering on, and running the battery out over the course of the night, I've already replace the sensor, the solenoid, and the fan itself.

As it stands now, my only option is disconnecting the negative lead before leaving the car. Has anybody had a similar situation, and if so what solution did you find?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's your radiator fan timer.

Check this link out, under 'Overheating', to see the location and what it is.

Would the timer be able to effect the fan at the unpredictable intervals in which this occurs?

It's not necessarily immediately after the car is shut off, at times it will come on hours later.

I believe the fan timer control can cause what you are experiencing. Sounds like you already replaced the relay and still experience this problem; so, the logical course would be the radiator fan timer control.

I am actually having the same problem right now with my 95 accord. At first I thought the battery was just old and died but then I noticed that my fan didn't shut off sometimes when I shut the car off. I have also just been disconnecting the negative battery cable everytime I get out of my car for more than a half hour. Just like yours, mine also starts to run hours after I have shut my car off.

So we have come to believe that the timer is the problem here? How should I fix this?
