Car shut off and won't start
well last night i was driving my car and it just shut off. i have no clue what it could be at the moment. the cel came on i tried to check it but it doesn't blink at all, which i believe means the ecu is fried, but i tried another ecu and it did the same thing. also all my fuses and relays look good. it just turns over, no fuel and no spark. please help asap. thank you.
yeah, my user name pretty much explains it. sorry took me about 8 hours to finally get home so i'm really tired. its a 92 with an h22a.
Could be some kind of distributor issue...maybe the ignitor inside the distributor. Also check around the engine and wiring for anything unusual...since it just suddenly stopped who knows what happened. Also try doing a compression test in case something mechanical gave out....just suggestions.
now that its light out i'm gunna check the main relay first. is it under the hood or is it one above the fuse box in the car?

shot in the dark, but i had the same problem, when through a main relay, fuel pump, and dizzy, only to find out the my back up fuse under the dash in the fuse box wasnt making a good connection. plugged it in all the way and fired right up.
nah, i'm gunna put my other distributor on and if that doesn't work then i think its gunna be an electrical problem. when i put my last motor in for the first time i missed a ground and it pretty much did the same thing, though i'm not sure if the cel was on so maybe a ground came loose or something.
ok i'm kinda certain its a ground. i went to hook my car up to jumper cables cuz my battery died and once i hooked the negative terminal it started sparking, so i tried to ground it to the block and that sparked even more not as bad as if you were to touch the posetive and negative together but worse than normal

Do you have an alarm? I had the same thing happen and after weeks of wire hunting, I found a little switch for the alarm was shorting out. This allowed the car to crank and all the guages worked, but the check engine light was on. I could turn on and off the car and every once in a while the check engine light went out and I could start the car. So when I went to start the car an the CEL stayed on, I knew I wasnt going to be starting the car. Just something to check out.
yeah i have an alarm. i was actually thinking it might be it the night it happends, but it still turns on and off but i'll take it out anyway cuz i don't use it at all.
