Default can i take the rool bar off? hardtop s2000...

i have a hardtop s2k- i removed the soft top... its essentially a permanent coupe at this point... im installing two 6x9s on the rear soft top deck.... but i want to remove the rollbar so that i can lean my chair back the 3 more inches it would take for me to be comfortable>>> i wish i could remove all the bullshit behind the seats, but i cant because thats where the seatbelt retractable thing attaches.... >>> i could get harnesses i suppose but im trying to make this is comfortable as possible>

the s2 was my dream car still is, and i have it looking how i want it, i have all my interior pieces installed, new seats, hardtop, all exterior work done, i just need to make this as tollerable on the frequent 3-5 hour roadtrips i perform on a regular basis... i need more ****** room behind me... i removed the plastic shroud covering the roll bar and got about 1 inch and that made a hell of a difference...

i was told tha the roll bar wouldnt even hold up in a roll... and that the seatbelt would extend my head way past the rollbar in any event of a roll... but im slammed 4 inches and i doubt im rolling anywhere unless i fall off a cliff... and i live in miami so theres no danger of that happeneing (plus if i fell off a cliff id have bigger problems lol)

i was told to just get a custom roll bar done, but im basically way past my budget... i want to keep my seatbelts too.

any ideas guys? help me brainstorm please!!!! remember i no longer need to leave any room in the back.... if i could recline it all the way to the glass it would be great! lol... thanks guys and im ready to try things... my interior is out (just sound deadened the entire interior) and im waiting...

i dont care about the trim panels on the inside... ill make a new fiberglass cover or figure something out...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've seen a handful of rolled S2000's and the roll bars do stay intact. Even with the hardtop, I can't imagine it would be very safe. The hardtop simply sits ontop of the car, it's not a reinforced part of the car. I've neverseen a hardtop'd S2 roll over, but I'd imagine the aluminum roof would crush right in like tinfoil.

But I guess that's irrelevant anyway, because you're in Miami where there's no cliffs.

Okay, I just posted because I want an excuse to ask for pics of this slammed hardtop S2

you need to have a custom one fabbed up. try the s2ki florida forums they can recommend you some. very bad idea to remove and not replace with another form of protection. How tall are you that you still need to go back? And how are you gonna do that? The oem rails dont allow you to go back any further..

i have bride seat rails on bride seats, im all the way as far back as i can go and im only about 3/4 of the way back... i dont wanna go back on the rails anymore though... i just want to recline a little more... it bothers me so much on a regluar basis its all i think about when im in the car! if onyl i had 2 more inches if only if only if only... its all i need and ill love my car!... essentially i want my head to be behind the back of the window... the bride seats are thicker than the stockies so thats why im having an issue...

How can you see if you sit like that? I always wonder how people drive with the gangsta lean. I see them all the time so it must be managable.

haha yeah its manageable... youve got a front 3/4 view, and mirrors, and you lean up for 1 millisecond when you gotta change lanes... but for the other 99 percent of the drive, its the most comfortable way to be my friend... expletive callin it a gangsta lean.. i call it relaxation.

since the soft top is completely removed, i would take the opportunity to further stiffen the car by adding a 4 pt roll bar. as well as improved safety.

It does not stiffen the car in any way, as it is not connected to the frame.

you ****** tard.

Pants saggin came from a prison style that shows you are willing to take it in the ***. I hope you think about that next time you sag your pants, that you are showing off a prison fashion reserved for the desperate.

I'm not a transvestite, I dress like the straight man I am, and have a hot girlfriend of two years.

I'm glad I'm no where near you so that you don't get someone I love killed with your foolish driving position. If you need to sit up to see your surroundings you need to sit up.

And as for the post count...... I couldn't care less, but here is another one for it. I believe in survival of the fittest, and if you don't want the roll bars Honda put in your car to save your life in the event of a roll then I hope you leave the gene pool before you have the chance reproduce.

neither was I. read my post again.

a 4pt, 5pt, 6pt, or 7pt will not in any way strengthen the rigidity of the chassis whatsoever.

i wanted to see my alternatives to the stock rollbar, not remove it. as you can see if you read anything in this post, i was asking for good fabricators to make me one. but, you were more concerned with putting someone out there for no apparent reason that you decided not to read. your a newb, so its okay. i dont mind. but please refrain from posting here you useless piece of mangina.

do you honestly think 3 inches would make it to the point that i couldnt see my surroundings?? listen littleman, you just started driving, get to my point and then well talk.... LEAVE

and about you attacking my personal sense of style, let me begin with saying im an EXTREMELY accomplished graphic artist with my own clothing line- so lets just say about anything having to do with fashion, ive got 20 heads on you.
about the sagging----
althought that may be where it originated, get your head out of your *** and realize it is now a staple in urbanwear, companies have embraced this and its the sentiment of an entire generation fagboy, wise up and stop being such a ****** ***** tool, man lemme get your girls number so i can show her what a real mans dick is like you ****** queerball. honestly, strait edge anti everybody people like you **** me off so much... dont be mad at me because throughout your whole life people have called you a loser, and embrace the fact that you are indeed a loser... my man, do me a favor and post up a pic of your so called girlfriend and ill do the same, and lets see who is more succesful you punk ***.

hahaha i love tlaking **** to you! i love it! because if i was anywhere near you youd run away cause your a little punaniboy. did any of the names ive called you bring back highschool memories you 19 year old queerball? go have a drink and relax, oh right your 19.

brace any two points of the UNIBODY chassis and youve increased chassis rigidity.

plain and simple.

but those points where the 4pt roll bar is attached...it does not flex. so it would not make a difference anyways. somebody else chime in here please.
