05 06 cams help me out
i got a couple of guys who was tryin to tell me and my buddy that the 05 06 type s cams are type r cams. we said they werent and im almost positive we are right but just wanted to clear it up cause we are all friends, they are also sayin that the 05 06 type s comes with the 4.7 final gear which i dont beleive that either.....help us out here, please
yes and no
they are similar to type-r cams but they have a different part number
they are pretty much "type-r" cams if you look at it in terms of performance
about the final drive, i don't remember the exact number but its identical to the new si's
it is an improvement over the 02-04 models
but 4.7 sounds about right
someone else can clarify that

i got your back on this one ... it was hard to find out that final drive on the type s is pretty much the same (type r = 4.764 and types s = 4.77) but the type r also has a final drive that is 5.06 more for autocross i think and fits in the dc5/ep3/fd2 ... jdmland sells both type r final drives in each size ... so the type s and type r final drive arent that much different mostly just the fact that one is jdm and one is usdm ...

The final drive is EXACTLY the same as the TypeR, that is true.
The cams are PRC part number cams (PRC is the TypeR designation), but have a 003 revision number versus the 001-002 revision number for the real TypeR cams. They are certainly better than the 02-04 cams and a very likely identical
