Ok iv not been able to use my car for about 2 months now...I drive a 99 civic ex, frame has about 151,xxx miles on it and i got a d16y8 swap about a year ago,because the old motor was knocking. has about 75k on it. Well i was driving down the road one day and my car just turned off, like if i turned the key to the number 2 position, the one right before it starts the car, and my main relay clicked million times. I go to try and start my car and it will crank and crank but wont turn over...so im lost. I got 700$ worth of stuff replaced, new dizzy, fule pump, fule filter, spark plugs, ECU..yes an ECU, Speed sensor, Fuse box and crankshaft sensor. This fixed my problem for about 8 days, then the problem returned.... I need help any ideas from anyone? Thanks... I also replaced the main relay HELP!!!!

You replaced all that stuff and didn't check the main relay?

 

you should of checked before you spent all that $$

 

No i replaced the Main Relay first, then it did not have an effect so my mechanic prolly bullshitted me and told me i needed all this ****....any ideas?

 

Any friends you could borrow a distributor from to test with? Putting my money on the idea you have a coil and/or ICM (ignition controll module) going bad. Swaping in a "known good" distributor will tell you quickly if its in the dist.

 

I just got a new Dizzy, im thinking the last thing it could be is electrical or the assembly where the key sticks in, that whole electric part could be fryed?...but im an idiot..any other ideas?

my car has a problem in the ignition switch. sometimes it powers on no problems, other times turn the key to run and nothing comes on. im in the process of finding out why. i will keep you posted.
