90 crx timing belt
i took off valve cover an everything looks to be ok.. nothin bent or broken that i could see... i had an 89 accord lx-i an when that timing belt broke, i jus laid that car to rest
you cant really tell if a valve is bent untill you take the head off. if your timing belt boke then you most likely do have a bent valve or worse.

well it all depends on how fast you were going when it broke since these motors on prone to bending the valves in this situation. I myself had my t.b. break on my '88 si but it was right after startup so I got lucky. The best and really only way to know if the valves are bent is to remove the head and inspect the valves, the cheaper way is to but a belt back on it and see if she runs and if it does then your good. If you DO have a bent valve or valves then you'll know cause it will run like **** if it even starts

Well before you said you were broke as **** I was going to say go ahead and do the tensioner and water pump while you have it all apart anyway. Like said earlier, if your valves are screwed you will know when you start it. If they are bent it isnt a huge expense, and I also see a6 heads on here from time to time going for 75-150 if you had to go that far.
i got it fixed up an she runs like new! thanks again for all your input! i think the next project (after i get some money saved up) is front end alignment an then engine swap. i jus rolled over 297,000 miles. only a new clutch, new alternator, new brakes, new gas tank. still goin strong
