Default San Diego Timing Belt Mechanic?

My 02 Accord SE has yet to have the timing and tension belts changed, its currently got like 113k on the clock so im thinking i need to get this done asap lol.

any good mechanics in san diego that wont charge me an *** load.

so far Ive been quoted 700-750 from mechanic #1 which is the tensioners, t-belt, labor, parts etc.. water pump not included ($50-70) (half a day's work)

and $800-ish from mechanic #2 for everything that needs to be replaced (he said some stuff might still be good and wont need replacing) (full day's work)

?? any ideas?

thanks guys!

That;s a reasonable rate, but the pump should be done too

$175 for oem water pump? Ok, something's smelling fishy there. They don't cost more than $100, usually less than $50 for Accords, though not sure for the V6 models. My trusty mechanic usually charges $300 labor and the parts that I buy on my own come out to $200 or so.

You could buy the parts and pay the guy labor only.
That way if he marked up up higher on parts, you can call him out on it when he tries to move some $$$ to labor later.
