Default compression test with skunk2 pro series cams

Hi guys,
Just bought a ITR that comes with a stock bottom end... skunk2pro series cams and valvetrain... we did a compression test on a warm motor

175 across the board...????

whats up with that. My question is do the cams effect the compression test?
big cams-lower test?

please advise

Thanks

It will also depend on the accuracy of your gauge.
At least they were all the same...instead of one being alot lower.

I would do a leakdown test.

If the cams are not dialed in, you could lose compression. There is the chance that intake and exhaust valves are over laping.

Was the throttle open all the way when you did the compression test?

Cams and timing will most certainly affect compression results... This is why VTEC engines have such enormous compression (on small cam) compared with mortal engines.

175 is what I had on my 83mm b18c1 with 9:1 compression.

Went back to the shop last nite... the throttle was not wide open when we did the test....

we did a leakdown on the motor and it came out excellent.. dont remember the exact % but it was in the "white" on all cylinders!
