After some pondering the decision was made to convert to an individual coil setup which consisted of m&w pro14 4 channel ignition system, honda cbr 600 coils, and tony1 trigger kit. Special thanks to Tony1 for his help and great deal on the kit, here are a few pics:

yea Tony's salesman skills cost me a pretty penny but after seeing the indy times i think it was much needed.


tony do i need rising or falling edge?

 

On the cam trigger you will not need to change the edge from the oem, i forget what they are from the factory, but you can use either rising or falling with the cam trigger.

On the M&W, the AEM sends out a rising edge trigger, so you will need to set it up for rising edge.

 

that is badass...how much did the M&W box cost? where did you get the black braided wire covers at?

i started to implement CBR coils sticks on my 240sx (KA24) the other day...I cut off the rubber boot tops off of the stock plug wires, cut the middle out of it and then slid it up the coil stick to the top...and now it protects water/dust/etc from getting in there (after using sealant where the new rubber cover meets the coil stick). it makes it looks like the coils were an OEM setup after doing it : )

we will now be offering the complete harness like the one on the car with the plugs for the coils cbr600rr coils and harness pre-fabbed.....and m&W igniton if needed.

Has the car been ran (street, dyno or track) with the new ignition setup? If so, what are your thoughts? We have been working on this with our Integra and EG but lack time for our own cars right now

 

what does that cam trigger kit thing do? i see it all the time on SFWD cars.

 

It provides a much cleaner signal to the EMS. The AEM EMS loves the thing. Tony1 or someone here can elaborate with more detail.

LoL @ ART! yea im in 3rd place but i kinda have a small gain b/c ive only ran 3 events so the E-town event wont replace any of my points!

You left out the most important part of this setup... THE SPARK PLUGS

We need to come up with a list of interested parties and get NGK to build us a lot of like 5000 copper plugs with the correct tips. That is the sole reason I am not running COP with my setup, I can't afford iridium plugs. (I'm not going to run the Bosch plt's either) lol

 

You can still run individual coils with normal plugs, just not with those coils. We run an OMC marine coil on our alcohol race car stuff and they still run spark plug wires so you can run any plug.

 

car started right up today the T1 instructions are idiot proof ...but i still had to call tony to ask him a ??? .........LOL..........

THROTTLE ROSPONSE IS AMAZING.... ON THE DIZZY SETUP IT HAD A SMALL SPUTTER DOWN LOW......
