i know its bench racing but i just want to settle this quickly.

 

I would say around 180whp

 

You aren't going to hit 14.5 @ 100. You're looking at closer to a 14.0 to trap at 100 in a Civic in most cases.

 

Psh, shoot for 220whp. Make it take a little less effort. I take it it's a d16y8.

 

yeah 180~200 hp.for your single cam vtec.best bet is turbo it

the reason i say 14.5 is because im factoring in a lazy start on street tires

basically...how much do i need to easily hit 100mph?

 

Why are you worried about mph? If you want to hit 14.5 you need about 180whp + ... thats what, about 210hp at the crank? If its a D16y8 you arent going to hit that N/A (not for $$$ k's) so just turbo it, turn up the boost and have some fun.

thats the idea...im just ballparking a whp goal

 

you dont need 180whp to hit 14.5 gsr's dont put out 180whp adn they can run mid to low 14's all day, but they do have more torque..

at the time with full interior, my 97 EJ with a Stock H22A4 (thats the weak one 160whp) I ran a 14.09 @ 98 mph, with street tires. 60ft was 2.2.
