ok i hate to makr a new thread about something that has probly been coverd but i cant find any thing i want to know.. first i have a virgin d15b7 with 200,000 miles on it after months of debating searching ...more debating and more searching i finally decided to go the turbo route. but i cant find a good write up on 1. choosing a turbo 2. finding everything needed to have a turbo setup , and 3 weather i should install it my self and have the knowlege and satisfaction of doing it my self or taking it to a professional ....what size turbo is ideal for what my motor will handle,...im not expecting a 9 sec 1/4 but i want a quick and reliable dd hoping for 13s..if possible,.. what should i know before choosing a turbo setup?? ihave heard all this bigger turbo less psi bull crap ...but i want something that fits my car and driving style (DAILY DRIVER..and weekend track ) i would also like to keep the sohc for quite a while thats why im choosing the turbo route ....tell me what you know or were i can find a write up i wanna know everything befor i go out and start getting quotes and buying stuff that i wont use or need

used greddy kit would be good for a beginner. i have a feeling somebody gonna say sumthin...

 

Greddy kits are good as long as you get a intercooler and blow off valve too. But I personally wouldn't turbo charge a stock motor with 200,000 miles on it (asking for trouble down the road). Find a lower mileage D series then buy a kit and have a knowledgeable friend help with the install. A smaller turbo (16g, t-25 eclipse turbo) would be better for daily driving = less turbo lag.

leg = lag

14b or 15g are good choices as well.

so does the turbo leg have a turbo foot too?? haha jk man i know

 

i was talkin to a friend who had an old ford probe turbo layin around and he said it would be harder to make a turbo from another car to fit my car is this true??...and i bought this car from my moms freind who is in her 40s, all she used the car for is highway driving so i dont think its in that bad of shape???... but yall would know more than me .... alright so im gonna go check out the junkyard and see if i can find a low milage d motor ....thanks guys and keep it coming
