LS/vtec, Crvtec, or full b18c? Which one shall choose?
Just got money and a empty '95 LS in need of motor. Which route should I go. At this moment have $2500-3000 to spend. Kinda limited. Thinking of going all-motor but daily-driven. Totally confuse on what setup I should go. Appreciate the input.

You have $2500-3000 to use? I think you need more $$$$. B18Cs can be pretty expensive because of the demand....though I have seen some for low 3000s...but then there's always little things here and there that add up.
You can always just go straight LS or CRV for now.....save up...then do the vtec conversion later.

lsvtec & crvtec are very expensive. you have to invest a lot of time into the motor, or else it'll mess up. rather go for b18c. since 2500-3000 is not much. i would buy a junked 94-01 integra that has a complete b18c1 motor/tranny. http://www.iaai.com is a good place to buy a salvage integra. they're located everywhere in the us. they have pictures of the cars too so you can see the damage.

Actually I found a fully built crvtec longblock for $2100. Stock sleeves, arias pistons, eagle rods, made by KG, PnP GS-R head. Great deal but no tranny.
Also found 94 GS-R longblock for $1400-1500. Just missing dist, alt, injectors and starter. 75-80k miles on it.
Gs-R tranny will cost me 650 as well.
I guess I'm down to these two options. Appreciate the input guys.

I'd go GSR. Can rev all day....

do what it takes to get a full gsr setup. do not mess around with frankenstein motors. i would get the whole setup together, then try to trade the head to someone that has a B16 head.
b16 head flows better
get gsr, pnp the head, get skunk2 mani, ctr cams
i would have jumped on that built crvtec, but i am a frank motor kinda guy

pull youself together and just pick something like i did
you will think too much about it then you wont even want to do one (a swap that is)
get complete gsr, it is a great all around motor
