WTB Phoenix Yellow type R!!!! Why are they still going for 15-20k?
Ok, I have a 2006 blk on blk Infiniti G35 and to be honest, this car wasn't as fun to drive as my integra. Which I just sold. There a bunch of popping noise, it has very slow acceleration and I miss the smooth shifting of the Honda transmission. The G has one of the worse notchyness ever on the clutch. Not a smooth ride at all. Feels very heavy too when driving.
Anyways, while looking for the Type R to keep as a daily driver, the prices seem a bit steep for a 8+ year old car. They are running 15-20k.
Is this a good deal? Anyone here have a fairly stock one for sale?

The G35 has a terrible curb weight and needs to go on a serious diet. Highly unlikely as it's a luxury coupe. You could easily pep that thing up with a super charger or turbo charger by Stillen. Hell of a lot cheaper than selling it and buying an R.
R's hold their value because of the rarity, performance and the following it created. It's as simple as that.
In all honesty, I don't think the R is going to drop too much more in value. It will hold for a while, then you will see people with disposable incomes collecting them, thus driving the prices back up.
Look at some of the performace cars of yesteryear. Things that our fathers drove that they didn't think twice about now worth anywhere from 10 to 100 times their original MSRP's.
You can still find 97's and 98's for around 10K.

Yeah, the G is a nice car to look at but its freaking boring to drive. I had my integra for 5+ years it had tons of fun driving it. It was then turbo'd and that even made it more enjoyable.
Had to let it go because of the hassle of smogging and the "fumes" it gives out. Running rich and the open downpipe. etc. etc. For the G, I'll just leave it stock and really don't want to mess with it. It's way to heavy to try to get it to go faster.
My mind is stuck on the 2000-2001 Type R mainly in PY or CW. I'll just save up and hopefully find one in decent condition.
Or, I can just sell the G and get the NSX.

Hmmmm. The G engine is a brute. You can really work some magic with that thing if you're willing to do so. Though it sounds as though you have given up on it. Personally, I wouldn't mind driving a boosted G at all.
2000 to 2001 doesn't come in CW.
An NSX? Now we're discussing apples to oranges to bananas. All three cars are COMPLETELY different in many aspecs from one another.

Please, for the love of the community... just do that.

I didn't really get the G to soupe it up. And if you have one, you'll know how fuel efficeint this car really is. This car gets about 15-17 mpg at best. Not very fuel efficeint.
Plus the 05-06 with the rev-up motors have oil burning issues on some of them. Don't really want to risk it.
The Type R, S2k, GSR are high reving, fuel efficeint cars. More fun to drive. My G redlines at 7k. Never took it pass 6.

Are you making payments on the G35? If so, you wont be able to make payments on an NSX, except stroking a fat check. The banks wont finance that old of a vehicle and you would have to make $80,000/year to debt for the car.
My friend is selling his 01', with 67k for 13k right now so he can get into a house. Price is low, due to his situation.
PM me for details.

How could you have driven your Integra for 5+ years when you're 19?

Good luck finding a clean 97-98 CW that is stock with lower mileage.

Good choice, because ITR's make excellent daily drivers.
Oh, and why lie about your age? I know people do lie about stuff over the internet, but they usually end up on Dateline... Just FYI.
