Default Does it really matter?

Autozone has 5qts and Filter of Mobil 1 for $30 bucks. Car has almost 140k so I'm thinking 10W30 High Milage Oil. Sound good? How are those Mobil 1 filters? Suggestions?

The mobil1 filters are pretty good, I ripped apart several filters a while back and it had one of the larger/stronger magnets.

Please share with us what other filters you tore into and how you would rate them

A lot of people tear apart there filters after they replace there oil. You can see whats going on in the engine by whats in your filter.

Lets see, I had a Fram, a K&N, a Mobil1, a STP, and an OEM (this was a couple years ago).
IIRC the K&N had the largest magnet. These were not really official measurements, just visual comparisons, but the OEM and the Mobil1 magnets were similar, and the Fram and STP were similar and smaller than the others. I really wish I had taken some pictures....I might do it again once I build my collection back up
I've got an OEM and a K&N. Next oil change I'll break em down and take some pics.
I do recall that whatever I saw on the inside of the K&N impressed me enough that I've been using them ever since....other than a couple times I used an OEM just cause my dealership gave them to me for a steal.
