D16Y8 Intake Manifold On D16Y7 motor

Default D16Y8 Intake Manifold On D16Y7 motor

I plan on puttin this IM on my car because i plan on turboing it and it wont fit the top mount Intake manifiold or whatever you call it on the Y7. What all would i need to do this. i also plan on getting the y8 head too so..any suggestions would be great

You need an auto y8 intake manifold with all the trimmings.

You don't need to use the intake mani off an automatic, it just makes things easier.

The automatic Y8 has the same IACV to TB setup as the Y7, which makes it easier. With a manual Y8 mani you have to block the IACV opening on the back and use the throttle butterfly/rotor/spring off your Y7 TB (into your Y8 TB)

With an auto manifold you won't need to.

Also remember to get the throttle cable and bracket as well. Makes the swap a lot easier.

why doesent he just get longer coolant lines and run the manual with the manual tb... im sure he got it with the y8 if it s amnaual mani.. thats what i did when i went form y7 to y8

damn dude i didnt think it would be this hard B/C i have a y8 manifold and i was waiting to put it on. so wut all parts do i need to put the manual y8 IM on.


and i was planning on boost so i need a solid way to block the thing u guys were talking about.

I have an automatic y8 mani if anyone is intersted. I was going to do the swap myself but got a b series instead.

how do i tell which manifold is from a auto d16y8? any numbers or markings? could someone send some pictures. I know someone selling one but dont know how to tell if its a y8 auto manifold.
