f22b1 or h23a block with h22a head
which motor sounds more powerful a f22b1 sohc vtec with a turbo, cold air intake, and a h23a intake monifold or a h23a block with a h22a vtec head and a cold air intake
You know (and this isn't condenscending)...to be honest...I think you should save yourself the headache of all that and just get an H22 motor to drop into your 4th gen. I remember you said you had a motorless car and so I'm going to assume you're weighing your options. I'm also assuming you're new to Preludes so I will say you will not be disappointed at the power an H22 will put out in your car. I would start from there before doing any crazy swaps...that's just my 2 cents.
i already have the f22b engine nd im currently rebuilding it but i also have the peiced h23 motor without the block in the car nd i have the time to do headache swaps
Hmmmm...well that changes things a bit doesn't it? Ha. I don't know what the typical numbers are for a basic turbo upgrade on a F22b1, but I know the factory HP is 145, which is signifcantly weaker than an H22. However you said you were building the F22, so it depends on those specs and what kind of boosting you are giong to run with it. There isn't enough info there to predict that IMO. Potentially, the F22 could make some good HP depending on the setup, but I don't know what your plans are. I'm not a turbo guru at all, so I'll definitely need a second opinion on that, but I would think the H22 head on the H23 block would be a good competitor if the F22 build was a fairly mild one. Anyone else?
If you are willing to go through the trouble and are relatively competent with motors, why not put the H22 head on the F22 block and then add a turbo? Look at prelittlelude's thread on it.
F22 turbo can easily make more hp and torque than a bolt on h23/h22.
if you have money
i would put together the h23/h22 and turbo it later on
