Need Help Painting 94 civic
Me and my friends are taking the intitiative to paint my car. Its a 94 white civic. The paint is just so faded since 94, but the body is in great condition.
My friend said that we should wet sand the car(Which im unfamiliar with) im a noob!! After sanding we should primer and Wait a few hours to apply the first coat. Sound Simple, but im not sure if this is what we should do!! Friend is a painter so i figure he knows.
I am going to buy the 00 integra chamionship white. Unless anyones got a better suggestions and how Many cans at what size should i buy.
Need some of you Pro honda people to school me!!

sand the car down w/180 grit first w/a block just enough to take off the clear coat, then primer it...next wet sand w/500 grit then ull be ready for paint, its probably gonna take about 3 quarts..go down to a auto paint store they should be able to help u more

I wouldn't suggest sanding with 180 grit. I would stick with 320 grit on a DA to smooth the surface, remove stone chips etc... then use a primer filler, and wet sand with 600 or 800 grit.

After you wetsand the primer, wait one or two hours so that it'll dry fully. It would also help to leave it out in the sun to dry.

I would not hit it with 180 thats pretty heavy. like the other person said I would DA it with 320. what color is the car now.
Yep 320 dry works great. I dry sand w/ a DA as much as possible, bumpers and all. Wet works fine but too, but prepping for high build primer I prefer dry. I wouldn't use spray cans if thats what your referring to, get some good 2k high build.
