Of course, you don't need the '99-'00 front end to put JDM foglights on your car. There were JDM foglights for the '96-'98s too.

They won't look the same though.

What a lot of effort and work and money just to get a set of foglights lots of other people have.

I honestly dont like how foglights look, but since my area is overpopulated with deer, and most of my driving is done at night, I bought a set to aid me in lighting up the night. for the added light! for the "jdm foglight" hype. Dont get them because they are the "cool jdm thing to get" get them because you need them. If you dont have any need for them, then why waste the money?

Oh, and for the record. every coupe/hatch front from 99-00 is the same. There's nothing special about the "si" front other than the grill.

I hate it when people refer to 99-00 parts as "si" parts. 95% of the parts are the same as regular trim civics.

Actually, the foglights do differ in different markets. For '99-'00, the foglights came in different colors (clear or yellow) depending on the market. For '96-'98 the foglights came in different colors (clear or yellow) and/or different shapes (round or square).

For example, the USDM '99-'00 foglights are clear and the USDM '96-'98 foglights are clear and round. We never got the square foglights here!

Hell, all '99-'00 Civic front ends are the same besides the grille and one part which is standard on one trim and optional on the rest. The sedan grilles are chrome and differ in appearance compared to the coupe/hatch grille, though the Si coupe has a different grille than any other trim. The one part which is standard on one model and optional on the rest? The front lip. Yep, you could even buy a CX hatch new from the dealer with a front lip too.

First of all, the generation ran from 1996 to 2000 in the US.

Second, it doesn't look the same AT ALL.

- Headlights are shaped different in the corners ('96-'98 rounder, '99-'00 more pointed - this affects the hood and fenders too).
- Headlights are different lengths ('99-'00 is longer than '96-'98 - this affects the hood and bumper).
- Headlights' inner corners are shaped differently ('99-'00 is more pointed - this affects the bumper).
- Grilles are different widths ('96-'98 is shorter - this affects the bumper and the hood).
- Grilles are different heights ('96-'98 is taller - this affects the bumper and the hood).
- Space between headlights and grille is different ('96-'98 has more space - this affects the front of the hood too).

Trust me, just trying to fit a '99-'00 bumper on your '96-'98 Civic WILL JUST NOT WORK.

Also remember the 99-00 conversion requires cutting of the radiator support as well as the bumper reinforcement edges to get the front bumper to sit flush and correctly with the fenders and headlights. Also cutting needs to be done so that your 99-00 grill will install correctly or else the lower section will stick out and make the car look horrible.

you have to change everything on the front end because their slightly different look at the grills in the 2 pics the 99-2000 has a lot wider grill and the headlights have a different slop downward towards the grill i have no idea about fenders though they might fit they might not i've never done the conversion but was looking into it and now i couldnt be bothered and the 96-96 square fogs are a bit more orginal (but not much) at least they didnt come from usdn factory that way

The fenders are definitely different. Look at the parts of the fenders that are against the headlights.

96-98 bumpers and 99-00 bumpers are different. 96-98 bumpers will fit 96-98's only. 99-00 bumpers will fit 99-00's only. If you want to put a 99-00 bumper on say, a 97, you have to get 99-00 bumper, hood, grill, fenders, and headlights. I suppose that if you had a 99-00 and REALLY wanted the 96-98, you could do vice versa, and put 96-98 bumper, hood, grill, fenders, and headlights on it. But you cant take a 97 civic, and just throw a 99 bumper on it.

What? I added a lot of punctuation just so I could figure out what you're trying to ask. I'm not trying to harp on your for your grammar and punctuation, but realize that if you don't shape up some, your questions won't get answered because no one can understand what you want to know.

The '96-'98 front end is the same for ALL '96-'98 Civics.

The '99-'00 front end is the same for ALL '99-'00 Civics.

The front end you're speaking of is not an Si front end. It's just a '99-'00 Civic front end.

ONCE AGAIN... (and these are both EX coupes, NOT SI COUPES.)

There is a '96-'98 Mugen front bumper and also a lip. They are very difficult to find, and they are expensive. The JDM bumpers are exactly the same, though Japan goes by production year instead of model year. That just means that my "1998 Honda Civic coupe" (what it is called here), which was built in the summer of 1997, would be called a "1997 Honda Civic coupe" in Japan.

The foglights for '96-'98 are available as either square or round. Start searching the site; there are many threads with photos and there are many cars with the foglights on them. There are also replicas sold on eBay.

NO, THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE!!!

It needs to have Japanese writing on the back on the back or it's not worth the god-awful amount they paid for 'em. Not that it makes a bit of difference...but whatever.

I wanna see these pple when they're on the phone w/ insurance and their car is jacked. "Yeah, it's painted 'dark & cloudy sparkling metroid silver' with a JDM parking poll, a JDM grounding strip, JDM smoked headlight housings, and JDM foglights."

And the people at insurance are like "WTF?"
