Default ITR questions: CA emissions and JDM front end

Does anyone have a 1997 or 1998 ITR brochure? I'm wondering if ITRs sold in California were rated as having different power output due to stricter CA emissions standards.

As for the JDM front end, does anyone know how they would compare in a crash compared to a USDM front? I'm curious about the difference in crash standards between the US and Japan. I've seen some pics of wrecked ITRs with JDM front end conversions and they seem have relatively more damage in a low speed accident. I'm not sure if it's because the conversion wasn't high quality or if that's just the nature of JDM front ends. Do JDM front ends even keep the USDM bumper beam?

The JDM front end uses a tiny, tiny bumper support compared to the USDM front. I don't know if the metals are stronger on the JDM front, but they are a lot lighter, so that could have something to do with the safety.

If you do go for the jdm front end, you might want to try to keep the usdm bumper support too.
