Default gauge cluster question

ok i have an 89 crx si, my cluster burnt so i have a cluster out of an 89 hatch, the speedo and turn signal indicators work but nothing else. does it have to be out of a crx? i am lost and really need to get the cluster working so i can drive the car, i really dont want to have to add extra gauges can anyone help?

civic and crx clusters are interchangable. you need a cluster from an 88 or 89. 90 and 91 are different and wont work.

There are some inaccuracies with the 88-89 pins outs, the 2 CRX clusters I had from the 88-89 vintage were nothing like the poster information, so I had to tract down/test the proper wiring. I think B18c5CRX was using 88-89 hatchback harnesses, which may have been different altogether than the 88-89 CRX pins outs. Here are my findings based off what I had to test and figure out. For the most part the wire colors in the CRX match up with the 90-91 format. Aside from the illumiation, which to the best of my knowledge, the red and red/black wires need to be swapped when converting to anything newer….it has something to do with the way the 88-89 dimmer circuit works.

Might want to double check your wiring.
