Ok so I just finally got my plate for my hatch but one of the license bolts is stuck and the previous owner tried to remove it and scratched up the front bumpter So, I decided to fix it the right way, it was very easy. If you like to work on your car, can remove the 7 bolt to take off you front bumper cover you're almost done Here is how to

take off your bumper


You will need one of these for each side you a seized bumper, I ordered 2 but i only needed one. I'd rather replace them in a pair since its cheap.



To remove the bolt, take a pair of pliers to grab the bolt. Then take a hacksaw and cut the bolt. Take care not to damage your bumper, if you have a very nice bumper I would put blue painters tape around the area to make sure you don't damage it.

There are 2 tabs that it in place...make sure you install the piece right, if you not sure take a look at the one that you have not removed yet.


To install, you will need to thread in 2 bolts. Alternate the screws when you are tightening so that its even




This takes 10-15 minutes max as long as you familiar with how to remove the bumper and have the proper tools. As I continue to work on the hatch I will post how-tos up. Later

but when you live in NJ, you need a front licence plate.

exactly..they pull over hondas for any reason, this is a way to give them one less reason to do so..here is the final pic

 

You need a front license plate in CA as well. But people still fill them in and use the license plate relocators.

 

My fronts have OEM plugs (dealership actually installed them when I brought it for my dealer-accessory install w/ the front plate hardware removed), but when the state decided to change it's plate design I discovered one of my rear bolts had seized. After soaking it in penetrant I twisted the head right off the bolt. Drilled it out and used a coarse-tooth stainless steel screw in it's place. Which is probably just as corroded & seized now. The less bolts you have to worry about the better, at least in my book.

My state (Illinois) requires front plates by law. I've had no IL front plate installed for over 15 years now, and have only gotten a ticket 4 times for it. Moved here from Michigan around that time, MI only requires the rear, and I never heard a convincing argument for requiring a front plate.

I'd say at least 1 in 4 cars I see with IL plates don't have the fronts installed, so it's not as though I stand out like a sore thumb.

nice write up very useful for people here in the mid atlantic area where almost all of the states require a front license plate.

 

I was looking into doing a plate relocater but i'm thinking about getting fogs not sure yet. If I do, I will write that up to.
