Door won't open?
I have a 1998 Accord EX Coupe. Today i got in my car no problem, drove 5 miles to my house, and couldn't open my driver side door. The handle would not open the door from either the inside or the outside. Any ideas? I would take the door off to peek around inside, but I can't open the door. Is there a way that I could jimmy the door open from the inside or the outside?
Might be tricky to do this... but... remove the console for windows...and door handle and locking.... remove the screws and pull the door panel upwards firmly, i believe there is a screw at the bottom... which you won't be able to reach since door is closed... but... pull door panel upwards and take it off..... take a close look at the main wire/hook the goes from door handle to the actual door latch (inside the door) and pull it, if it doesn't work.... there's a problem.
You can still open the door using a screwdriver and hitting the part of the latch that moves in and out... in this case, push it towards the opposite side where it sits, and that will free it... door will open! lol... i think i may have just made this sound complicated... but it's not.... give it a try and let us know!

Alright so i just tried to take off my door panel, and that didnt work out so well. The farthest i got without feeling like i was going to break things was a 1/2 inch gap by the lock. From there i was able to look down at the unlocking mechanism. The latch that you told me to hit, the gold one if its the same one im looking at, still moves when i pull the handle. Now I'm completely lost...
