Default which cams suit me the best?

i've been looking a lot at the m24x's, the skunk2 3's as well as the pro2's, and possibly if i can swing it, some jun3's. the setup is as follows:

gsr block
P30's (+.25mm)
springs/retainers (depends on which i go with)
flat faced valves
hytech or sms header
skunk2 pro IM w/hondata gasket
possibly if money goes well some headwork
2.5" exhaust
64mm TB

IM could possibly change..... lookin for 215+whp

you're gonna need a lot more compression if you want the full potential out of those cams. i'd say rm m22x is a better choice.

with the p30's and flat faced valves your CR should be bumped to around 11:5- 11:7 assuming you run a oem 3 layer headgasket and no milling was done to the head so some stage 2 cams or rocket m22's should be ok

i was looking at the m22's as well, they def look like they make solid power. i was also thinkin about using a two layer head gasket....but im still undecided on that

If you got GSR head with VJ from RLZ/Rocket/DFE, do Performer X IM match ported, good stage 2 style cam, Hondata S100/S200 (crome if on budget) and you will be

205whp if you get lucky. 215whp are pro builder numbers for true 11CR 1.8L motors.

Scientific testing performed as follows in some suburban tract:

Toss "fair" coin.

If heads --> Blox wins, hands down.

If tails --> BC wins, hands down.

If coin stands on edge --> Rocket wins and we "party like it's 1999" because "they might be giants" just say "goo goo gjoo, I am the walrus" and "just let it be" "strawberry fields forever" "say bye bye Ms. American, pie. I drove the chebby to the lesbi but the lesbi was dry."

I'm just giving my opinion from the researc I've be reading. Blox C's or BC4's would probably get him close to the results he's looking for.

If I'm not allowed to state my opinion, please let me know and I'll never post in this forum again. Please let me know all mighty all motor gawd... pfffft

as far as headwork goes im looking for at least a mild p&p if not a lil more. im not opposed to deviating from the cams i listed but as far as blox goes, i've seen some decent results but theres something that just keeps me away from them. no experience/reason just a gut feeling. if i get more than a valve job, will any of the ones i listed come into play? assuming of course i use the thinner head gasket....

Most cams will work fine. Your choice will be based on if you want to pay extra for that extra power etc.

its going to come down to whether you want to pay for a company that already did R&D (skunk2), or a company that just copy's product's (blox)

im almost certain ill be gettin the head ported. i just wanna make sure if i cough up a lil extra money on more cam that it'll be worth it and actually make the power that it should. i.e. do it "right" the first time

x means 1 large and 1 small primary like stock cams, or the old Skunk cams, copy cams. xx means both primarys are larger, like the PRO's or Toda.

ok then....guess that explains why they listed the primary specs too on the xx's. so the m22's are comparable to pro1's and the 24's somewhat correspond to pro2's or not?

22's and Pro1's are comparable, the 22's typically carry power a bit higher, and the Pro1's having a bit of a stronger midrange. The 24's are smaller than the Pro2's, but I would like to see them against eachother in a healthy 2 liter

What is this motor going to be used for?
