Check Engine LIGHT
OBD1 or OBD2?
And what year?
If its OBD2, there is a OBD2 socket near the driver side area. Near the foot. I know on the 5th Gen, it's behind the ashtray. On the 6th gen and + it should be around the right foot of the driver side area. To check OBD2, go to Autozone and borrow an OBD2 scanner. Tell us the code so we could tell you how to fix it or what is wrong.
Not too sure on OBD1. Tell us what year you have first.
OBD1=BELOW 96 (ex 95,94,93.....)
OBD2=96 and up (ex 96,97,98....)

same thing with obd1 it a little blue plug that you stick a paper clip in both of the holes, then turn on the car to were the light in the dash come on (not starting the car) then look at the check engine light and count the blinks.
