AT LAST!! Some FI results for AKMEE Type-S valvetrain kits!!
Thanks to Larry from Washington. He has been testing ATS profile in couple D series combos over the last few weeks. I called him for an update today and he told me on a JRSC 11psi D it was @ 210 whp with 59300 Zex. Swapped to ATS profile and it was 221 whp. So the gain would've been even more compare to stock.
Just as we at AKMEE suspected the ATS profile should be a great FI cam profile. Larry will send me the dyno results and details soon. I can't wait... just wanted to share the good news.

A gain of 1 whp? What dyno was it done on? Alot of dynojet's ive seen are fairly accurate but you can get a couple whp variances just from other conditions. Can u tell us more about the cam and its profile?

sorry, typo. 210 -> 221 whp. i'm waiting for the full details from Larry soon. about the ATS valvetrain kit... http://www.akmee.com/sohc-vtec/
results from NA D16Z6.

The three baseline pulls were all within 1 whp but #3 is shown as it has the best curve. #18 = after tuning with Neptune. Peak whp gain is 7.8 whp (from 131.05 to 138.84) and the highest gain are in the upper revs with just over 20.4 whp @ 7700 rpm. The gains below VTEC is substantial after tuning and make the car extremely pleasant to drive around town.

will do. lot of ppl have been waiting for the ATS results on a FI D motor. we've speculated for LONG time about this. i was even giving out killer deals so ppl would test it on their FI setups. lot of inquiries but nobody ever stepped out. Larry is the first one. so this is great.

we only made a small batch of ATR profile. we have like 2 sets left which we will do more testing and post results sometimes in the future. but currently we don't plan to make another production run anyway... SOHC VTEC market feels dead... no reason for AKMEE to spend more resources on it.
all the customers who bought ATR profile seem really happy with it though. we still have a bit of ATS profiles left. for the street guys you can not go wrong with it. it is a fantastic street/strip profile.

plenty of ATS left. got 3 sets of ATR left which we're going to do more testing and use on local race cars... etc.
You know that a SC cam and a turbo cam are generally pretty different, right?
With a supercharger you increase manifold pressure w/o increasing exhaust backpressure, so it likes an N/A type cam. On most turbo setups you will have a pressure ratio working against you and with a good N/A cam you will end up with a lot of exhaust reversion and lost power.

i know that lot of turbo B guys used to love CTR cams for boosted engine... but yes our stuff were designed for NA. but i think it actually works decent for FI due to the fact that it's relatively "tame" profile for NA anyway. it doesn't too much duration.

All i'm getting at is that with turbos, what cam works in one setup will not necessarily work good in another. CTR cams with a log manifold and small turbo does not work good at all.
